Joanna Chiu

Joanna Chiu, MPS, RD

Hi! My name is Joanna Chiu and I am a Registered Dietitian passionate about providing individualized care to help others improve their relationship with food, their body, and exercise. I am a mental health advocate and make it a priority to make my clients feel supported and validated. My approach uses the principles of intuitive eating and performance nutrition to help clients meet their individual nutrition, body image, and health goals.

I believe that food and nutrition are important components of an individual’s life but it should not be the center of it. By helping others make peace with food and nutrition, I hope to open their mental capacity to other joys of life. I am passionate about correcting the misinformation that diet culture perpetuates and helping others rediscover their intuitive eating abilities. I value the relationship I build with my clients, their courage to share their unique stories, and the trust they have in me to help them.

Joanna's Background & Professional Experience

My formal education was completed at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. Following my undergraduate education, I completed my Master of Professional Studies in Nutritional Sciences and my dietetic internship at Pennsylvania State University. Throughout my internship experience and the months following, I gained experience working with students and young adults in the intuitive eating and body image space. My other related experiences include the planning of an intuitive eating group coaching program and nutrition content creation.
